The course duration is 3 months.

There are 2 intakes each year, February-April and July-September.

By the end of the course, students should be able to:

• Set up and assemble computer hardware components to ensure proper functionality and performance of a system
• Install operating systems, drivers, and application software on
• computer systems to make the system functional, efficient, and tailored to user needs
• Provide technical support to information technology systems users to ensure smooth and efficient operations as well as minimize downtime
• Perform system upgrades such as adding RAM, replacing storage devices, or software patching, to optimize system performance
• Follow safety procedures and protocols and adhere to industry standards and environmental regulations during system installation and maintenance to safeguard personnel, equipment, and the environment
• Implement data backup and recovery strategies to safeguard an organization's data and ensure business continuity
• Troubleshoot basic local area network (LAN) setups to ensure proper connectivity for computers and peripherals
• Implement emerging technologies such as chatbots, remote support, IoT and virtual assistance in IT systems maintenance and user support
• Deliver training sessions to educate users on IT tools, applications, and security best practices to promote effective utilization of technology resources
• Implement security policies, procedures, and protocols to safeguard sensitive data and protect against unauthorized access, viruses, malware, and other cyber threats

Yes! A National Foundation Certificate recognised by the Zimbabwe Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education will be issued to the student after successful completion of the course.
